Persal.org is required to provide precise information on the processing of your personal data, pursuant to art. 13 and 14 of EU Regulation 2016/679 “European Regulation on the Protection of Personal Data”, and to inform the user of this website about the methods of processing data concerning them. We therefore invite you to read carefully the following information so that you can then consciously express your willingness to process your data for the purposes and in the manner indicated below.

The Data Controller, in line with Legislative Decree no. 196/2003 – Privacy Code, and EU Regulation No. 679/2016 – GDPR – , intends to ensure the privacy and security of personal data of each visitor, as established in the following statement. This information is to be considered for all purposes valid as information pursuant to art. 13 D.Lgs. 196/2003 and art. 13 and 14 GDPR 679/2016.

Type of data processed

The website offers information about Persal.org and its activities. During navigation, the Data Controller may therefore acquire information in the following ways:

  • Navigation data: Like all websites, this site also uses log files and consequently acquires, during navigation of its pages, some personal data whose transmission is implicit in the use of Internet communication protocols. This category of data includes: IP addresses, the type of browser used and the parameters of the device used to connect to the site, the name of the internet service provider (ISP), the web page of origin of the visitor (referral) and exit, information on the pages visited within the site, the time of access and exit, the time spent on the site and on each page.
  • Data provided voluntarily by the user: In some sections of the site you can make posts, leave comments (see sections below) or fill out forms in order to ask any question to the owner, as well as make contact in order to join the Org. In these forms are provided the details of the applicant and his contact details.

It should be noted that this information refers only to processing operations carried out on data collected as indicated above. It therefore does not refer to other sites that the user may access through links on the site www.persal.org.

Purpose and legal basis of the treatment

The data collected are processed for the following purposes, each of which corresponds to the appropriate and relevant legal basis of treatment:

Where we send your data

The data processed will never be provided to third parties, for any reason, unless it is a legitimate request by the Judicial Authority and only in cases provided for by law. The only exception are the visitor comments. Those may be checked through an automated spam detection service.

If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.

Method of data processing

The processing of personal data is carried out mainly using procedures and electronic media for the time strictly necessary to achieve the purposes for which the data were collected and, in any case, in accordance with the principles of lawfulness, correctness, not exceeding and relevance provided for by current privacy legislation.

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymised string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service Privacy Policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

If you write us a message (via the contact forms on the site), we will keep it for the time necessary to process your request. If there is no request we will delete it after one month.

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
